Waste Disposal and Environmental Labeling: A Practical Guide
In an era where sustainability is a must, correctly communicating packaging disposal methods is not only a regulatory requirement but also a sign of corporate responsibility. In line with ISO 9001 and the new European Packaging Regulation, we have adopted a clear and traceable environmental labeling system that accompanies every material used in packaging processes.
Why is environmental labeling important?
Environmental labeling allows for the unique identification of the nature of packaging materials, helping end customers ensure proper disposal according to waste sorting regulations. It is a simple but essential step to comply with regulations, avoid fines, and contribute to the ecological transition.
In compliance with current regulations and ISO requirements, we apply an identification code to each packaging component. This code, compliant with Decision 97/129/EC and recent additions to the European Packaging Regulation, allows for clear and complete traceability.
How does the PegPack system work?
Each package, from the wooden crate to the strapping, from the VCI sponge to the heat-shrink films, is accompanied by a disposal code that indicates the correct treatment:
